My name is Niina Vuolajärvi and I am a Finnish researcher living in New York. I am at Rutgers University and I am working on a book on commercial sex in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. I would like to talk with sex workers who have worked in Sweden to understand the situation there! The research is funded by Rutgers University and Kone Foundation Finland.
*I am looking for all kinds of people who have experience selling sex in Sweden
- You can be a migrant, a visitor, or a citizen. You can be of any origin, gender, and background.
- You can work indoors, on the internet, or on the streets.
- You can sell sex occasionally, or as your main income.
- You can be a beginner, a former, or an experienced sex worker.
*You will get a compensation of 500 crowns for the interview. It will take around 60 minutes depending on how talkative you are.
*I am especially interested in hearing how you see the situation in Sweden
How is it to work here? How do you see the laws around sex work to affect you? Maybe you have experiences dealing with the police you would like to share? What makes you feel safe or unsafe in while working? How do you wish to see the field of commercial sex in the future in the country you are working in?

Your identity is fully protected. I won’t talk to anyone about what we have discussed or collect your name or other identifying details anywhere. We can do the interview on skype, or on the phone, or sit down for a proper interview — you decide. The interview situation is relaxed and you don’t have to prepare for the interview in any way. You will be met with respect and with an open mind.
